EMSSC is a non-profit volunteer organization. Without the participation of parents the club would not be
able to funtion in its current capacity. Because of this, the parents of every child are expected to volunteer when asked to do
so.
EMSSC's priority is the success of Recreation Program. While we realize that participating in 2 programs is a big
commitment for a player, it is essential to do so in order to keep the Rec Program operational.
During Rec Season, a Pride player is required to attend at least 1 Rec practice and the Rec game each week. Failure to do so may result
in a suspension from Pride play.
As a non-profit organization, fundraisers are essential in keeping the club running and at keeping the registration
costs low. The Rec Program hosts an annual sales fundraiser required of every player. Beginning in the Fall of 2009, cand bar sales
will be replaced with spirit cards. The Pride program also has annual fundraisers which in the past has been a Soccer Bash. However,
for 2010 we are going to have a Pride Trivia Night. The player participation requirements will be determined at a later date.
Compared to the registration fee for Rec, the cost for Pride is significantly higher. However, compared to the
rates of other organizations' travel program, Pride registration is quite low. In addition, unlike most clubs, our registration fee DOES include
tournament fees. A team typically plays in 4-6 tournaments a year that costs hundreds of dollars to enter. The success of EMSSC
fundraising has made the costs associated with Pride participation much more managable to the community than most other clubs.
If a parent has an issue with a coach, the EMSSC Board recommends that you first discuss the matter with the coach. Give him/her
an opportunity to respond and make corrective actions. This should be done privately and not infront of any kids. If the issue has not
been addressed in a manner acceptable to the parent, the parent is advised to contact the Coordinator for that program. See
Members of the Board. If the parent feels that the Program Coordinator has not addressed the issue in
an acceptable manner, the parent should request that the matter be brought before the Board for discussion. Parents who circum-navigate
this process will not be given special consideration.
Each Pride team is given a fixed amount from the club to pay for tournament registrations. Teams that fail to provide volunteers
when asked to so, or volunteers who fail to show up for their duties, will have funds deducted from their tournament purse, the amount of which is
determined by the EMSSC Board.
Yes, the regular session board meetings are open to the public. They are held the second Monday of every month at the East Moline City Hall, 2nd floor.
