About the Rec Program

 

The general purpose of the Club is to provide a coordinated soccer program for the children of the community. The program provides for the growth and enrichment of the total individual through quality coaching. Our objectives is to help grow each player's mental, social, and physical abilities to their fullest capacity. Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship as well as on the development of skills. The EMSSC Constitution and by-laws is a sincere effort to promote respect for rules and authority, good sportsmanship, and self-discipline among the contestants.

The Recreational league is for those players who enjoy the spirit of the game but NOT the more intense competition or commitment required for participation on a travel team. Emphasis of our recreational league is on providing a fun and structured activity for the player to enjoy while learning the game.

A full season comprises 6 weeks in the Fall and 6 weeks in the Spring. Teams are organized from registrations collected prior to the start of the Fall season. A supplemental Spring registration is used to balance teams and create additional teams for the second half of the season.

EMSSC Pride players compete in the Recreation League through U12. The Pride players are evenly distributed among the Recreation Teams to create balance in team strength.

Registration

EMSSC has partnered with Blue Sombrero to provide online registration for the Rec Programs. Online registration is fast, easy and much more reliable than the paper-based system. Pay by check or credit card.

Guidelines:

• All players MUST register
• Players must be at least 5 years of age by July 31^st 2010.
• $50 per child with a $100 family maximum.
• Parents are expected to volunteer.
• Participation in yearly fundraiser is mandatory.
• All players are expected to bide by the Players' Code of Ethics.

Fundraiser

EMSSC will no longer be doing a candy sale as its yearly fundraiser. Starting in the 2009/10 season the candy sale will be replaced with spirit cards. More details to follow.
