About EMSSC
EMSSC PO BOX 455, EAST MOLINE IL 61244
EMSSC was founded in 1981 to provide youth soccer to the cities of East Moline, Silvis, and surrounding communities. The club consists of a Recreation Program designed to introduce kids to the game of soccer, and a Competitive Program (travel) for those wishing to advance their skills and play at a more competitive level. Jacobs Northeast Park hosts all our Rec games, many Illowa games, and is the site of the Quad City Spring Shoot Out tournament.
The annual Labor Day Shootout tournament had been a Quad Cities staple since 1985 drawing nearly 80 teams for 4 days of competitive soccer. EMSSC changed the annual tournament, now named the Quad City Spring Shootout, to the spring in April of 2019. It has been a great turnout, with more teams participating than ever and no longer hosting over a busy, holiday weekend. During our tournament we present a check for a percentage of registrations to a local charity of our choice.
EMSSC gives back to the communities by giving two $1,000 college scholarships to a graduating boy and girl from UTHS who have participated in our club and played high school soccer.
EMSSC has a limited number of grant opportunities for Rec Players. This grant was created in the memory of Gary Lundeen a long time supporter of EMSSC Soccer. These grants are for the registration and necessary equipment (a ball, shin guards and shoes) for qualified families.
Recreational Program
*When registering in the fall, the fee covers both the fall and spring sessions. If registering in the spring, the fee is still the same, but only includes the spring season. Each child will receive a jersey, shorts and socks with their registration. Shin guards are a requirement for participation but are not included. Cleats are optional but strongly recommended. Each child will receive a participation award at the end of the full year (at the conclusion of the Spring Season).
Refunds will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. However, refunds WILL NOT be issued for participants who register in the fall and elect not to participate in the spring. If a refund is issued, EMSSC will retain funds to cover the club's out-of-pocket costs for the participant, such as the cost of uniforms or fundraising merchandise.
Fundraising is an essential part in the continuing operation of the club. The money raised is used to offset registration fees. As a result, all club members (Players and Parents) are required to participate in the club fundraising events. The recreational program fundraiser will be determined each fall.. Pride team members are required to participate in the annual Pride fundraisers and club tournaments. Failure to participate in required activities may result in team sanctions or an increase in next season's registration fees.
